Thank you to Jerry McCoy, founder of the Silver Spring Historical Society, for speaking to our 7th graders about landmarks in Silver Spring!

Our first MakerSpace Monday will be December 15 during lunch and after school. Bring your lunch and check out Raspberry Pi, Lego Mindstorm, Minecraft,, origami, friendship bracelets, and more! See you there!

Looking for something great to read over Winter Break? Then sign up to receive a "gift" of a library book selected just for you! Sign up in the Media Center by December 17th and pick up your book on December 22nd or 23rd. Then curl up over break with your book. Unfortunately, you do have to return in after you finish.


October 2014: Read a scary book, get a piece of candy!

Through October 30, you get a piece of candy for every scary book you read. BOO!


September 2014: MakerSpace: Creating with Technology

We are all really excited to create our very own MakerSpace, a place where students can explore technology through robotics, music, and more! Stay tuned as our equipment comes in and we get ready to open!

You can also download an app for your smartphone. Just search for Destiny Quest in your app store.



Kindle2Kindle alert! The Media Center has Kindles and MP3 players available to loan. Students must sign and have their parents sign a permission form. Let us know what books you want on the Kindle or MP3 player and we'll download them for you. See the Media Center staff for more information.

Circulation and Hours


All books, magazines, e-readers, and MP3 players circulate for two (2) weeks. You may renew all items multiple times unless there is a hold on the item.
